The windy city and the largest lake I have ever seen!

Chicago surprised me in a number of ways - how diverse a destination it is and also just how large Lake Michigan is! I was not alone in my astonishment on that front - mistaking it for the ocean along with my travelling companions! I knew the trip was going to go well from the beginning. We started out in Manchester travelling Business Class with American Airlines (meeting an A-list footballer along the way), and had five days that were action-packed and fabulous fun at the same time.

We saw West Side Story, cheered at a Chicago Fire v Manchester Utd football game and a Chicago Cubs v Houston Astros baseball game, marvelled at the art galleries and museums, lunched at The Penninsula, rode segways along the lake side and stepped out onto the Skydeck Ledge hovering on the 103rd floor overhanging the city below...

We also tried every staple Chicago delicacy - the trip was truly memorable. Chicago offers culture, shopping, theatre, dining and beach (yes, beach!) alongside the lake's edge, making it a perfect destination to suit all tastes. I would highly recommend it along with returning home Business Class with BA to finish the trip in style...
